I don't know of a Usenet group, but there are several on Facebook.

I dont believe there is a usenet group like that, but this group is for
all antique radios, not just tube ones.

Also check out the newsgroups

sci.electronics.______

There are quite a few of them.

sci.electronics.basics
sci.electronics.repair

and more.....

I don't think anyone here would object to anyone talking vintage transistor radios on this group. Most of those radios folks have interest in are now far older than some accepted "antique" tube radios were back when this group started (I think I said that right).

At this point, I would think that about 2/3 of my vintage equipment is solid-state and dating from the early 1960s or there abouts. And, until 2019 or so, there will not be any such thing as an "antique" production radio at least at the 'home use' level.

A goodly number of participants here also know the difference between a germanium and a silicon transistor, some are even familiar with Tin Whisker Disease and more. So, yes, transistor radios would be welcome!
