Just saying hello...

I'm still stuck with a 1948 Crosley "10" inch (The hole in the cabinet is more like 8") 104A {?} RCA Chassis.
And at least seven WW2 German home radios (counting a '36 Austrian)
...none of which I've turned on in at least ten years.

But, aren't vacuum tubes great?
And now my tin Radiola 1929 I fergits the proper name... 60 !!!!
...has got a hum...
And getting a cap into the right spot...
... like I said, at least 10 years...
Who's got time in retirement???

And Mr. Layman isn't online anymore

That Crosley weighs a hundred pounds, I'll never get it downstairs.
(They'll be able to get me downstairs, nyuck, nyuck!)

Sometimes I lie awake at night trying to figure out side-bands and automatic volume control and FM modulation...

Who loves ya, baby?

The Hard Part in restoration is cabinet [re?]finishing.
Never tried it. Happily, anybody can replace capacitors!
Of course, stuffing new ones inside old ones is More Work.

My Radiola 24 'portable' radio only weighs about 30 lb without the
batteries.
