Hello, all. Any old timers like myself on the ng recall those cut-rate
tube prices from Cornell Electronics? I remember buying a few (don't
remember what type) and they had a Cornell label on the glass envelope
but the tubes IIRC were used but serviceable (in any application?).
Sincerely,

In that era Cornell was one of many. Most seemed to center around the NYC area which makes sense as most of the eastern manufacturers were there. My job at the time took me into that area often and I did visit the Ratel "factory" which was just a wash and rebrand operation using any source for product.

Yep I recall those ads for cheap tubes.

Speaking of tubes....a few days ago I replaced a board on my porch and
found a label from a tube box on the ground beneath it.

Oh, I loved Cornell. Bought hundreds of tubes from them.
