This a post to my original post asking about using a bettery charger
as a power supply for an auto radio Delco tube type, To clarify, the
power supply I have is actually an Eico model 1060 S
"Low Ripple Battery Eliminator and Charger". Is this OK to use as my
supply to bench test this radio I am working
on. Thanks Dan

As long as it has the right voltage and adequate current, it should be
perfect. You're using it as intended: "battery eliminator".

If it says low ripple, probably so. Providing the filter caps are still
good.
Ripple isn't a big deal when charging batteries.

yes, providing that it could produce a constant 6 volts @ 10 amps.
EICO did make such power supplies, however, it is a old unit & the built-in
capacitors are most likely open or leaking.
you may need to check the capacitors out & replace them before using it,
